Teacher's Write 2014 Assignment One

Assignment Number One Teacher's Write Summer 2014

I am very excited about the opportunity that Kate Messner is giving teacher's this Summer.  I hope it is not to late to enter in my first writing.  My goal in participating in Teacher's Write is to refine my own writing so that I will be better able to instruct the students this coming fall and support the teacher's in my building as we get ready to launch Writer's Workshop.

Summer Relaxation (A work in progress)
It has been nice to sit back and relax after a very busy and productive school year in my new role as Reading Specialist.  Summer really blends to relaxation and reflection for teacher's.  On this sunny Maine day I enjoyed being with family as we celebrated my nephew's birthday.  Highlights of the day included: children splashing and jumping in the pool, adults in conversation about upcoming events, and  a game with kicking around a soccer ball.  The joy on my nephew's face as he was blowing out his birthday candles, the smile on my youngest son's face as he was eating cake and icecream made me feel so blessed to have this opportunity.  Spending time with family is truly a blessing for me and to be apart of my nephew's birthday was an added bonus.
