Let the Cybil's Reading Begin...

I am so honored to be reading for the Cybil's.  This weekend, I finally learned how to use the database required by the Cybil's to log my reading.  I also have put all my entries in goodreads.com.  I would be interested if any of you have read some of these books.

On another note, I love my new job!!!  It has been crazy busy this last month but I am really enjoying life and learning so much each day.  I am going to list some of my reading below.

Clementine and the Spring TripClementine and the Spring Trip by Sara Pennypacker
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was a big fan when the Clementine series came out.  It was nice to see this book on the Cybils list.  Clementine is older now and faces challenges with growing up and how to handle herself in situations.  I loved it how she took Olive under her belt.

The Life of Ty: Penguin ProblemsThe Life of Ty: Penguin Problems by Lauren Myracle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed reading this book.  The main character Ty is so authentic to children and  especially how he copes with having a new baby in the family.  I loved it!!!

Bink & Gollie: Best Friends ForeverBink and Gollie: Best Friends Forever by Kate DiCamillo
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I have read books in this series before and I liked it just about the same as the others.

The Gumazing Gum Girl! Book 1 Chews Your DestinyThe Gumazing Gum Girl! Book 1 Chews Your Destiny by Rhode Montijo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I wish this book was written when I was a kid. Gaby loves gum but Chews it to much. Will she get special powers from the GUM...

The Last LectureThe Last Lecture by Randy Pausch
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was fantastic. It has completely changed my perspective. A must.

Heidi Heckelbeck Goes to Camp!Heidi Heckelbeck Goes to Camp! by Wanda Coven
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I can not see why this book is on the nomination list. I found it to be predictable and not a series I would read again.

Penny and Her DollPenny and Her Doll by Kevin Henkes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this book. There are simple sentences for younger readers. What will Penny name her doll?

So much to read and so little time.  I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my reading this week.  I'd love to hear from you.
Diana
